We are seeking a Personal Assistant for Professor Daniel Prieto-Alhambra, Professor of Pharmaco- and Device Epidemiology, at the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences located at the Botnar Research Centre, Oxford. This post is an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to work in an administrative support and Personal Assistant role within a research environment.


You will play a key role in helping Professor Prieto-Alhambra and members of his research team in developing newly funded projects, and facilitating existing ones. You will be involved in the administration of research and education related activities. You will be responsible for diary management, administrative support for research projects as well as publication support for Professor Prieto-Alhambra, including editorial assistance and help with references. You will provide assistance to the group with submission of scientific conference abstracts and manuscripts. You will organise meetings and teleconferences and you will work as a part of the administrative team providing general support.


You must be educated to A level standard or equivalent. Ability to demonstrate practical use of information technology systems, in particular database systems, Microsoft Office packages, email and Internet, understanding of clinical governance and its implications and importance for service/research as well as the ability to work independently, but also to know when to seek advice and an excellent interpersonal and communication skills in spoken/written English are essential. Experience in administration or PA work, including diary organisation, and providing support to the internal/external members of staff, experience of working in higher education in a research administrative role and familiarity with using PubMed are desirable.


This is a part-time appointment (50% FTE) for 2 years.
