The Department of Molecular Biology at the University of Wyoming seeks candidates for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. We are soliciting applicants whose research interests lie at the intersection of computational and wet lab molecular/cell biology. Areas of expertise may include bioinformatics, computational biology, computer vision, systems biology, synthetic biology, structural biology, biophysics, quantitative biochemistry, and genomics.
The qualified candidate is expected to develop a productive, extramurally funded research program that successfully combines in silico and in vitro or in vivo experimental approaches. The candidate is also expected to have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and participate in teaching in the core Molecular Biology curriculum.
The Department of Molecular Biology is a research-intensive academic unit with broad expertise in biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, immunology, biotechnology, glycobiology, and genomics (http://www.uwyo.edu/molecbio/). Molecular Biology faculty participate in strong interdisciplinary and departmental graduate programs (http://www.uwyo.edu/molecbio/degree-programs/).
Minimum qualifications include:
• A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in molecular biology or related field
• At least two years of postdoctoral experience
• Evidence of excellent research productivity and communication skills.
Preferred qualifications include:
• Previous success in obtaining research fellowships or grants
• A demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and graduate education
• A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
