The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) and the College of Pharmacy in Columbus, OH are seeking applicants for a postdoctoral researcher in the laboratory of Drs. Sharyn Baker and Alex Sparreboom. Outstanding, goal-oriented, creative, collaborative and highly motivated researcher that hold Ph.D.or equivalent degree are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will join an exciting translational project looking at cancer metabolism, targeted therapy, signal transduction, cell transporters and therapeutic resistance in acute myeloid leukemia. With the hopes of bring the molecular mechanisms discovered to a clinical application. The position is better suited for molecular/cell biologist with an interest in cancer biology and translational research.

OSUCC-James is one of 49 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers and one of only a few centers funded by the NCI to conduct both phase I and phase II clinical trials on novel anticancer drugs. Specialized technology and expertise needed for particular studies are available through the 20 Shared Resources and Cores at the OSUCCC – James. At OSUCCC – James investigators are working to develop novel, innovative approaches to preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer and to understanding the disease in its many forms.
A Successful applicant will hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with research experience. Prior experiences with molecular biology, cell biology or cancer biology is preferred. Demonstration of excellent teamwork and collaborative skills will be highly desirable. Candidate should have excellent scientific writing and oral communications. A competitive salary based on experience and NIH standards will be offered.
