Postdoc in Enteric Nervous System Biology
Applications are invited for a postdoc position in Enteric Neurobiology in Senior Researcher Ulrika Marklund’s group at the division of Molecular Neurobiology.
The Division of Molecular Neurobiology is part of the Department for Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics and performs research in neurobiology, developmental biology, cancer and stem cell biology. The Department resides in a new research building for Biomedical Research, Biomedicum, providing modern technological platforms and an open environment for interactions across departments and disciplines.
Research group and project
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Ulrika Marklund. The research group studies the function and development of the enteric neurons of the gut, using a wide range of transcriptomic, cellular and genetic methodologies. The focus of the proposed project represents a new exploration of the lab and aims to explore neuron networks within and between inner organs and their physiological functions.
The postdoctoral fellow is expected to play a leading role in experimental design, experimentation, analysis, and the presentation/publication of results.
The applicant must hold a PhD degree in the field of developmental biology or molecular neurobiology. Additional postdoctoral experience in the field of the enteric nervous system and relevant techniques including transgenic mouse models, gut physiology assays, histochemical methodologies, cell dissociation and cell tracing is particularly meritorious. The applicant needs to have a high degree of independence and motivation but should have no problems in collaborating. Duties to be taken on as soon as possible. Fluency in English is a requirement.
An application must contain the following documents in English:
- Curriculum vitae and qualifications, presented in accordance with Karolinska Institutet’s qualifications portfolio (http://ki.se/meritportfolj )
- A complete list of publications
- A summary of current work (no more than one page)
The application is to be submitted on the Varbi recruitment system.
