Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive universities?

As an ambitious, practical and enthusiastic scientist you will contribute to a multi-disciplinary EPSRC project working on the development and characterisation of membrane-active anticancer peptides. You will join an active team of researchers, working with academics across Leeds, Durham and York and our project partner in Sao Paulo, Brazil, looking to develop and characterise anticancer peptides towards realising their potential as a new class of membrane-active anticancer therapy.

Post Doctoral Research Fellow positions available are:

Research Fellow in Cancer Therapeutics (MHBCS1071)
Leading the biophysical investigation of peptide-membrane interactions using advanced quantitative imaging and spectroscopy techniques.

You will hold a PhD in a relevant subject area (or be close to completion) and have extensive knowledge of cancer cell biology and cancer therapy. The ability to conduct quantitative and systematic experimental characterisation of the functional properties of potential therapeutics in biological or biomolecular systems is also essential.

Research Fellow in Membrane Biophysics (MAPCH1101)
Leading the biological assessment of anti-cancer functions, using model membranes, cell lines, and in vivo models.

You will hold a PhD in a relevant subject area (or be close to completion) and will have extensive knowledge of biophysics or soft matter and the ability to conduct quantitative and systematic experimental characterisation of the physical properties of biological or biomolecular systems.
