In collaboration with one of the largest research and application centers of trans-omics in the world, American University of Sharjah (AUS) is developing a state-of-the-art Genomics Laboratory. Completion of the laboratory is scheduled for January 2019; therefore, AUS seeks to fill a number of positions by January 2019 or soon thereafter.
AUS is seeking to hire research scientists studying the genetic and genomic underpinnings of human disease. Working in the recently established AUS Genomics Laboratory, the successful candidate will use state-of-the-art next generation sequencing technologies to develop novel approaches of analyzing sequence data and rich regional phenotypic information to identify disease associated genomic loci and to study patterns of mutations to discern pathogenic and benign mutations in individuals.
The position reports to the assigned Laboratory Director.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Doctoral degree in a quantitative field, such as bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics or computer science.
- Relevant experience in algorithm development and scientific programming.
