DESY is one of the world’s leading research centres for photon science, particle and astroparticle physics as well as accelerator physics. More than 2400 employees work at our two locations Hamburg and Zeuthen in science, technology and administration.
DESY at its Zeuthen location is an active participant in the CTA consortium and the VERITAS collaboration. More information about DESY activities on both projects can be found at astro.desy.de/gamma_astronomy/cta and veritas . The PhD position will include data analysis on VERITAS, as well as analysis and reconstruction development work and sensitivity studies for CTA. The position is offered in the context of a Helmholtz Young investigator group based at DESY Zeuthen. The position will also be based at DESY Zeuthen, with the degree granted by the University of Potsdam.
