Lemont, IL, United States

The Nanoscience and Technology Division/Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) at Argonne National Laboratory has an available postdoctoral position for the development of solid-state photon qubits. The position is funded for one year and renewable for up to three years (subject to available funding and performance evaluation).

We are seeking independent and creative candidates with outstanding track record to join our multidisciplinary research team. The selected individual will carry out researches in the areas of photon qubit development based on solid state quantum materials. He/She will also help maintain an optical detected magnetic resonance microscope.

Position Requirements:

A strong background in quantum optics, optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) techniques, and magneto-optical spectroscopy is preferred. Additional expertise in semiconductor physics, spin physics, and low dimensional materials is beneficial is but not required. Knowledge of nanofabrication and programing languages is a plus.

Education: A PhD degree completed within the last three years or soon to be completed in physics, chemistry, material science, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.

Interested candidates should send a detailed curriculum vitae including a list of publications and the names and addresses of three professional references through the Argonne web site at http://www.anl.gov/careers for requisition number NST 405255.
