Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Columbia University

New York, NY, United States

A postdoctoral position in the laboratories of Dr. Anne Moscona, Departments of Pediatrics, Microbiology & Immunology, Physiology & Biophysics (http://www.microbiology.columbia.edu/faculty/moscona.html) and Dr. Hans-Willem Snoeck, Departments of Medicine, Microbiology & Immunology (www.snoecklabstemcells.org). The project is a collaborative project that focuses on modeling infection with human respiratory viruses in human lung organoids derived from pluripotent stem cells (Chen et al., Nat Cell Biol, 19:542-549). The goal of the studies is to probe virus-host interaction and pathogenesis in an authentic human model, understand determinants of viral fitness and transmissibility, and discover the impact of viral infection on lung development. The models may also be applied to antiviral design. A minimum commitment of 4 years is required. MD and/or PhD degree required, expertise in stem cell biology or virology desirable
