The Department of Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking an experienced senior researcher to oversee our core facility. Our core facility includes imaging and whole-animal physiology components. The core facility director is expected to maintain all equipment, provide training and troubleshooting, and to be involved in upgrading and expanding core resources. Our core facility is a repository for technology, for training, and for outreach. The imaging core includes both live cell and histological tissues.
A director is expected to possess good organizational skills as well as communication skills. The position involves overseeing several adjunct core-facility personnel and also allows for collaborative research time with any of the PIs affiliated with the core. A successful candidate will have strong technical skills specifically related to auditory neuroscience and must be willing to learn technologies that are not yet within their sphere of expertise. Pay is commensurate with experience.
