The Department of Pathology, Division of Laboratory Medicine, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is immediately seeking a Clinical Pathologist or Immunologist for an open rank/open tenure Instructor/Asst/Assoc/Full Professor position, depending on the candidate’s qualification. Candidates must have a MD or MD/PhD degree and completed residency in AP/CP or CP or a Ph.D. degree with a fellowship training in Clinical Chemistry or Clinical Immunology with a board certification. Anyone who is a NIH-sponsored principal investigator is strongly encouraged to apply. Prospective faculty is expected to lead the Clinical Immunology Laboratory in Pathology, develop an independent research program, and participate in resident and medical student education. Salary, rank and tenure-status are commensurate with experience and background.

A pre-employment background investigation is performed on candidates selected for employment. In addition, physicians and other clinical faculty candidates who will be employed by the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation (UAHSF) or other UAB Medicine entities must successfully complete a pre-employment drug and nicotine screen to be hired.
