Center for Human Genetics and Genomics (Faculty Positions)

The Center for Human Genetics and Genomics at the NYU School of Medicine invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant and Associate Professor levels. The Center, headed by Aravinda Chakravarti will focus on major questions in human genetics, using statistical, computational, experimental and clinical investigations, to tackle basic and translational questions encompassing both Mendelian and complex diseases. In this announcement, we are seeking researchers in genetic epidemiology, population genetics and evolution, quantitative genetics, and human disease models with focused programs on major, biologically-motivated questions. The Center occupies new space, designed to foster highly collaborative and innovative research, and operates side-by side with the Institute of Systems Genetics, the Institute of Computational Medicine and the many clinical departments within the vibrant biomedical research environment at NYU Langone Medical Center, as well as the growing human genetics community in New York City. State-of-the art core facilities at the NYU School of Medicine are an added attraction. Collaborations with the New York Genome Center and other local institutions are encouraged. We are seeking colleagues with bold and creative ideas in human genetics be they experimental, computational or clinical.

Candidates from non-traditional backgrounds such as computer science, engineering, physics, chemistry and mathematics are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will hold a primary appointment in one of the many NYU School of Medicine Departments and have opportunities to participate in one or more graduate programs.
For consideration, candidates should send a CV and 3 page research plan as a consolidated pdf. Candidates are responsible for having three recommendations sent to us directly by referees by the application deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered. All application materials are due by 12/30/18 although applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Please submit applications at:
