An exciting three-year postdoctoral position is immediately available in the French National Institute for Health and Biomedical Research (INSERM; https://www.inserm.fr/en), at the Mediterranean Center of Molecular Medicine, located in Nice, France. The center fosters a dynamic scientific research at the interfaces of cancer, inflammation and metabolism, and offers the possibility to work in a stimulating environment with access to advanced research platforms.
Our lab is particularly interested in determining the contribution of neuronal components in driving cancer cell plasticity during tumor progression and metastasis. While Interaction of cancer cells with diverse cell types in the tumor stroma is today recognized to have a fate-determining role for the progression and outcome of human cancers, the investigation of their peculiar relationship with neuronal cells is still at its first footsteps. The aim of our INCA-funded research is to encrypt the symbiotic dialogue existing between prostate cancer cells and the intra-tumoral nerves embedded in the prostate stroma.
