Postdoctoral fellow position is available for a highly motivated, self-directed researchers to join a well-funded research group focused on the Tumor Immunology. The translational laboratory is led by Raquibul Hannan, M.D., Ph.D. a physician scientist in the department of Radiation Oncology and Immunology whose work focuses on tumor immune modulation with radiation therapy and understanding strategies for the successful combination of immunotherapy and radiation therapy. Multiple ongoing clinical trials led by Dr. Hannan provides the tissue and forms the basis of the translational laboratory projects. Ongoing projects also focuses on understanding the radiation-induced immune response in syngeneic and PDX animal models.
The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. and have a strong background in immunology, tumor immunobiology and molecular biology. Experience with tissue culture, flow cytometry, handling animal models of cancer and small animal surgery are required. The candidate must have familiarity the common immunological assays and a proven track record of publications from graduate and post-graduate training in an area relevant to tumor immunobiology. International candidates who fits the criteria are encouraged to apply.
The Division of Molecular Radiation Biology currently has over 60 employees, including seven senior Ph.D. investigators and 5 M.D./Ph.D. translational researchers as well as other junior research faculty, postdoc and graduate student trainees and lab technicians. There is also significant dedicated administrative and financial support staff. The division has over 10,000 square feet of contiguous lab space, including 7 large labs and core space for tissue culture, microscopy, and other shared resources.
