The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Delaware invites applications for a tenure-track,Assistant Professor position in the area of polymer and soft matter chemistry. Areas of research interest include, but are not limited to, controlled synthetic strategies, supramolecular systems, stimuli-responsive polymers, templating synthesis, bioinspired pathways, and hybrid materials.

We seek creative and innovative individuals who have demonstrated excellence in research, who will engage in high-quality teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and who are eager to work in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment and become leaders in their fields. Candidates conducting research that complements existing strengths in biomaterials, composites, additive manufacturing, sustainability, catalysis, and nanomaterials are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be a major user of these and other oncampus facilities, such as the NMR Laboratory within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and the Delaware Biotechnology Institute.
