The Laboratory of Inflammatory Skin Diseases at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Manhattan is searching for a technician who will be a central part of a well-funded laboratory that concentrates on human skin studies. Job duties include immunohistochemistry, performing RNA extractions and purification from skin and blood tissues, purifying cell populations from blood and flow cytometry reactions and analysis. This is an opportunity to participate in cutting edge novel studies that will advance our understanding of inflammatory skin diseases.
Prior lab experience is absolutely mandatory. Candidates should have experience in immunohistochemistry, RT-PCR, gene arrays, RNA deep sequencing, tissue culture and other molecular biology techniques. Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge of flow cytometry. We are looking for a candidate who sees this position as a career and not as transitional job before medical or graduate school. Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred but not required for applicants with vast experience.
