A postdoctoral position is available in the Liver Cancer Translational Research Lab at IDIBAPS-Hospital Clínic Barcelona.
The lab is lead by Prof. Llovet and it consists of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to unravel the molecular determinants of liver cancer. Our research pivots on high-throughput genomic data and state-of-the-art disease models. Our final goal is to identify novel prognostic predictors and molecular targets, and to facilitate their implementation into clinical management.
Current areas of interests include the identification of mechanisms driving immune infiltration in HCC, and of biomarkers of response to treatment (immune checkpoint inhibitors and combinations); and the development of mouse models capable of recapitulating specific HCC features for testing the efficacy of different therapies and to assess mechanism of drug action. Our efforts are supported by several national and international grants including.
IDIBAPS is a center for research of excellence that combines clinical research of proven quality with high-level basic research. It can thereby achieve a more effective transfer of scientific advances in the prevention and treatment of the most common health problems. IDIBAPS aims to ensure that medical challenges are smoothly translated into basic research, and that the results obtained in laboratories can be effectively used to benefit patients. Improving people’s health is its ultimate mission.
