The MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR) (http://www.cvr.ac.uk//) are seeking a Research Assistant/Associate to play a leading role in a research programme focussed on Respiratory viral infections. Specifically we aim to identify interactions between different respiratory viruses at the single host level and link them with interactions at the epidemiological scale. To this end you will perform a variety of co-infection assays applying quantitative techniques and using powerful cellular systems such as air interface cultures of differentiated human bronchoalveolar cells.
The post holder will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project, as opportunities allow.
Salary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, level 6 £28,098 – £31,604/
level 7, £34,520 – £38,883 per annum.
