In the framework of the master thesis, the student will be involved in the theoretical and experimental study of the mechanical interaction between a solid micro-object having different shapes (sphere, disk and square) and an array of micro-coils, which are fitted by impulse currents.
Main objectives are:Designing, modelling and simulation of magnetic gradient generated by micro-coil (considering geometry and shape effect of the coils);Theoretical and experimental study electro-mechanical interactions between the local magnetic gradient generated by micro-coils and micro-objects fabricated from magnetic and conducting material;Fabrication of the prototype
The topic of the master thesis is the continuation of research activities of our group toward the study of micro-machined contactless suspensions and their applications in optics, sensors and actuators (please see a video below).

An ideal candidate should demonstrate the following knowledge and skills:background in micro-actuators and electro-mechanical systems;to be familiar with computer-aided systems (CAD) – SolidWorks.
