W3 Professorship for Immune Engineering and Drug Discovery

is to be filled at the earliest possible date.

This is a professorship of the DFG Cluster of Excellence ImmunoSensation2. There is an excellent scientific environment with a focus on the innate immune system. Scientifically, the professorship will specifically strengthen the Cluster of Excellence in the field of systems immunology. Internationally recognized expertise is expected, combining the fields of immune engineering, drug discovery and structural biology through innovative approaches. Of central importance are novel PROTAC and molecular glue-based methods for the targeted degradation of proteins in order to develop the technological innovation power of the cluster synergistically. The aim is to use cellular immune engineering to specifically characterize immunological networks and transfer them to new research tasks. It is equally desirable that the knowledge gained from basic research can be further developed with a translational perspective.

The position is open to physicians and natural scientists with outstanding scientific achievements, successful third-party funding, and teaching qualifications in molecular biology and experimental immunology. The incumbent is expected to be involved in the established scientific priorities of the Faculty of Medicine and to participate in existing and future research collaborations.

Requirements for employment are a university degree in medicine or natural sciences as well as habilitation or proof of equivalent scientific achievements. Experience in teaching according to § 36 Hochschulgesetz NRW is desirable.
