The Medical Faculty of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn invites applications for the position
W2 Professor of Cardiovascular Imaging
to start as soon as possible as a permanent position.
The professorship should focus on the field of cardiovascular imaging, both on a cellular level but also in small and large animal models, as well as in humans. The position is located at the Department of Internal Medicine II – Cardiology, Pulmonology, Angiology, & Intensive Care of the University Hospital Bonn (Director Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. G. Nickenig).
Potential candidates should bring significant expertise in molecular and clinical imaging of the cardiovascular system. We expect the candidate to strengthen the existing research areas and focal points of the Medical Faculty and the University, while at the same time developing new research networks. Excellent scientific achievement and established third-party funding are prerequisites as well as a proven ability to teach students.
Additional prerequisites for admission are the completion of a medical or natural science doctoral degree (MD/Dr. med. or PhD/Dr. rer. nat.). For those candidates with a medical degree and specialization in the prac-tice of internal medicine and cardiology, involvement in clinical work at the Department of Internal Medicine II is possible. A German Habilitation degree, or comparable scientific achievements in accordance with § 36 Higher Education Act NRW (Hochschulgesetz NRW), is required.
