W1 professorship for vaccine research

(tenure track procedure with option on W2 after 6 years)

to be filled as soon as possible. 

We are looking for a researcher with a focus on vaccine research, vaccine development (adjuvants, antigen, protein structure), immunology or virology. The professorship will further strengthen the research priorities of the Faculty of Medicine with the Cluster of Excellence ImmunoSensation2. Particularly desired are scientific qualifications in the fields of protein crystallography, structural biology, B-cell response, antibody development, the development of DNA, RNA and/or viral vector vaccines for human pathogenic viral infectious diseases. The responsibilities of the professorship include the establishment of an own research program in the field of research on vaccines against viral diseases as well as active participation in teaching. 

Acquisition of competitive third-party funding and integration into national and international research net-works are expected. 

The University of Bonn attaches particular importance to the quality of teaching. Didactic approaches to teaching, also taking into account the profile of the University of Bonn, should be presented.

Prerequisites for employment are a completed medical or scientific university degree, proof of scientific achievements as well as experience in teaching pursuant to Section 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz – HG NRW). Good English skills are a prerequisite.
