Digital transformation is one of the greatest challenges facing science, economy, and society. It marks the transition from an industrial age defined by analog technologies to an age of knowledge and creativity shaped by digital technologies and digital innovations. Digitization offers the opportunity to anchor sustainability and the conservation of resources in the economy and society of tomorrow. Therefore, we want to research and develop the digital transformation of sustainable industrial processes in a transdisciplinary way at the Center for Digital Technologies (DIGIT) (https://www.digit-research.de/en). This digital transformation offers enormous opportunities, which we at Clausthal University of Technology want to actively shape and create together with you at the DIGIT research center.

”Management of the Digital Transformation“
at the Institute of Management and Economics as soon as possible.
We are seeking an internationally recognized scientist representing the field “Management of the Digital Transformation” in research and education in adequate breadth. Candidates are to have a research focus in Entrepreneurship or Innovation Management, with applications to Corporate Digital Transformation. The intended research emphasis of the chair is on
• E-Entrepreneurship in the context of business creation and the digital transformation
of small and medium-sized enterprises and
• Innovation Management for digital products, services, and processes
In addition, the research areas should have links or application domains in at least one of the following fields:
• Business Technology Strategies
• Agile Corporate Organization
• Service Dominant Logic, Digital Marketing, or Relationship Marketing, or
• Advanced Circular Economy
The position holder should actively contribute to the further development of the research profile of the Institute of Management and Economics and Clausthal University of Technology. He or she is required to participate in coordinated interdisciplinary programs, in cooperation with neighboring departments as well as with external partners in Germany and abroad. Moreover, an active involvement in at least one of the four strategic research fields of Clausthal University of Technology is expected.
Teaching duties include courses in Entrepreneurship, Innovation Management, and Digital Business Models. These courses are part of the university’s Digital Technologies and Digital Management programs as well as further degree programs. In the medium term, the chair will be assigned further courses in General Management for the Business Administration and the Industrial Engineering programs. In addition, the position holder should play a part in the further development of the Digital Technologies program.
The requirements of the position are defined in Section 25 of the Niedersachsen Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz NHG). In particular, an excellent doctorate as well as a habilitation or comparable achievements are required.
Experience in the acquisition of third-party funded projects or corresponding industrial experience is expected.
The willingness to hold courses in German and English is a prerequisite. Strong commitment to teaching is expected.
