The Faculty of Mathematics/Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering of the Clausthal University of Technology is seeking to appoint the Position of
University Professor (Salary Scale W3 NBesO)
“Computer Engineering and Robotics”
at the Institute of Informatics as soon as possible.
We are seeking an internationally renowned scientist with a research area that complements the research conducted at the Department of Informatics. The successful candidate shall represent the area of Computer Engineering in sufficient scientific depth and breadth in research and education, with a research focus in a subfield of robotics. Possible research topics include:
• Robot-human cooperation and multi-robot systems
• Robotics for sustainable industrial systems
• Concepts and architectures for real-time cyberphysical systems
The successful candidate shall actively engage in the further development of the research profile of Clausthal University of Technology and in the advancement of the degree programs in Computer Science, Business Informatics and Digital Technologies, as well as of courses as service for other disciplines. The candidate is invited to actively participate in the Simulation Science Center Clausthal-Göttingen (SWZ), in the Clausthal Research Center for Environmental Technologies (CUTEC) and in the Center for Digital Technologies (DIGIT), a joint research and education hub of TU Clausthal and Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences.
The successful candidate is expected to participate in coordinated interdisciplinary research programs. She or he shall particularly promote the cooperation of computer science with the engineering disciplines, especially mechanical engineering, information engineering and electrical engineering.
The requirements of the position are defined in Section 25 of the Niedersachsen Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz NHG).
Experience in the acquisition of third-party funded projects or corresponding industrial experience is expected.
The willingness to hold courses in German and English is a prerequisite. Strong commitment to teaching is expected.
