Two Postdoctoral Positions in Non-coding RNA and Human Cardiovascular Research
Two post-doctoral associate positions are available in the Department of Pediatrics, Indiana University School of Medicine. IUPUI provides excellent research environment and postdoctoral retirement benefit.
We explore the mechanisms of early human heart formation and human inherited cardiovascular diseases using embryonic stem (ES) cell, patient-derived induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell and heart tissue engineering approaches. The positions are for studying novel long non-coding RNAs in regulating early human heart development and heart disease. These projects are expected to reveal a new layer of regulators in controlling human heart formation, heart function and congenital heart disease. The lab is well-equipped with Leica histological systems, Leica microscopes, 10X Genomics single cell sequencer, etc. We are looking for candidates with solid experience in molecular and cell biology with a good publication record. Preference will be given to individuals with hands-on experience associated with RNA and/or epigenetic studies, such as RNA immunoprecipitation, chromatin immunoprecipitation assay (ChIP) and ChIP-seq. Bioinformatics or mouse experimental skills are a plus. The successful candidate is expected to be self-motivated with a recent Ph.D. degree.
