At the Medical Faculty of Heidelberg the following position will be available at the next possible date:
TENURE TRACK PROFESSORSHIP
(W1 WITH TENURE TRACK TO W3) FOR SOCIAL NEUROSCIENCE
The professorship is linked to the management of the eponymous section, which is to be established at the Center for Psychosocial Medicine (ZPM) as part of the Department of General Psychiatry. The new section will work closely together with the working group on personality disorders and the ZPM‘s focus
on functional MRI neuroimaging. The section leader should be highly qualified for interdisciplinary collegial cooperation.
The focus of the professorship will be the investigation of brain mechanisms underlying the processing of social information and social behaviour in individuals with affective or/and stressrelated mental disorders. Also change mechanisms initiated by psychological or biological interventions are preferred subject of this professorship. We are looking for a personality with very good methodological knowledge in multimodal neuroimaging and experimental psycho(patho)logy and high-ranking publications in the field of social neuroscience.
In accordance with Section 51 Landeshochschulgesetz Baden-Württemberg (the Baden-Württemberg State Higher Education Act), this appointment requires a completed degree, an excellent doctorate, and pedagogical aptitude which has generally been proven through teaching experience. The professorship is a qualification position. If you spent time employed as a research assistant (before or after your doctorate), this employment and the period of your doctoral studies combined should not exceed six years.
The Tenure Track Professorship (salary grade W1) will initially be limited to six years and, following a positive tenure evaluation, will be converted to a permanent W3 professorship. Provided that the general legal (German civil service law) and budgetary regulations are fulfilled, it is intended that the employment will have civil service status.
