Job description:

As German Research Center for Environmental Health, Helmholtz Zentrum München pursues the goal of developing personalized medical approaches for the prevention and therapy of major common diseases such as diabetes mellitus, allergies and lung diseases. To achieve this, it investigates the interaction of genetics, environmental factors and lifestyle.

The primary objective of the Institute of Diabetes and Regeneration Research (IDR) at the Helmholtz Zentrum München is to develop regenerative therapeutic approaches to treat diabetes mellitus. In vitro generation of ß-cells from pluripotent stem cells for cell-replacement therapy or triggering endogenous mechanisms of ß-cell repair have great potential in the field of regenerative medicine.

Your tasks


Tissue culture mainly with human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs)Transfection of hPSCs and picking and expanding single cell clonesDNA and RNA purificationMolecular biology (PCR, cloning, digest)Biochemical experiments (Westenblot, IPs, Elisa)Immunohistology (Cryo- and paraffin sections, immunofluorescent stainings)General tasks of the laboratory organization, orderingWork documentationCreation of work instructions

Your qualifications


vocational Training as MTA / BTA / CTA / VMTA or equivalent trainingExperience in sterile handling of cell cultures is requiredExperience with embryonic stem cell culture is desirableFamiliar with basic molecular biology techniques (mRNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, immunofluorescence)good communication skills in English and German requiredCapable of working independently and responsibly
