During your SI Postdoc project you will be exposed to a multi-disciplinary pharma environment. As part of your career development, you will have the opportunity to present your work within the company and at external meetings and you’ll be expected to publish your findings in high-impact journals.
As a member of the Translational Biology department, the successful candidate will establish and implement CRISPR tiling technologies, applying the technology to identify functionally important regions in proteins of interest. In this laboratory-based role, the successful candidate will apply the technology in order to identify regions of proteins critical for cell viability and acquired resistance to signal transduction inhibitors, furthering our understanding of the biology of cancer pathways. The candidate will subsequently validate these regions in a cellular context, using a range of cell and molecular biology techniques.
• A PhD in a biological science and a strong publication record
• Direct experience and technical expertise in the setup, running and analysis of CRISPR functional genomic screens
• Demonstrable proficiency in a range of cell and molecular biology techniques including transient and stable genetic manipulation of cells and experience of applying these techniques to understanding fundamental biology
• The ability to contribute within highly multidisciplinary teams and work in a highly collaborative manner.
