One staff scientist position is immediately available for motivated candidates in Dr. Peng’s group at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a premier center for biomedical investigation located in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. Our group has contributed to the discovery of ubiquitin code and RNA splicing dysfunction in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The successful applicant will explore AD pathogenesis by diverse molecular, cellular and genetic approaches, as well as mass spectrometry-based proteomics and systems biology tools, using clinical human AD specimens, mouse models, and human iPSC-derived organoids. The overarching aim is to provide novel insights into AD pathogenesis and therapeutic intervention (https://www.stjude.org/peng). Our publication record is available on Google Scholar (200+ publications, 28,000+ citations). St. Jude is a top ranked hospital (#2 for pediatric cancer specialty in U.S. in 2019) and a world-class basic research institute with ~300 faculty members. Staff scientists at St. Jude are provided with very competitive salary in an affordable city. In this position, you will be responsible to design and perform complex in vitro and in vivo experiments, and analyze data independently. Developing new experimental procedures and publishing research results are expected. The job duty also includes training and supervision of lab members on relevant laboratory procedures and techniques.                                       

The candidate shall have a Ph.D. degree in genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, neuroscience and related fields and at least 3 years of post-graduate experience with excellent publication record. The title and salary are commensurate with the experience and qualifications of applicants.
