The Frankfurt Cancer Institute (FCI) is a recently founded LOEWE Center where interdisciplinary teams work together to elucidate molecular mechanisms of tumor pathogenesis and therapy response to develop innovative targeted therapies. Research within FCI programs is substantially dependent on central technology platforms to ensure a smooth and reproducible workflow. To achieve this, all FCI platforms rely on staff scientists with a PhD/MD degree and a proven track record in biomedical sciences.

to support the FCI Proteomics platform.

include the planning and execution of complex proteomics projects and the establishment of innovative mass spectrometry (MS)-based techniques needed for successful accom¬plish¬ment of the FCI’s goals.

are a profound expertise in quantitative MS-based proteomics and the respective data analysis including comprehensive proteome analyses and PTM profiling. A strong under¬standing of general proteomics workflows and LC-MS instrumentation is required and experience in the field of clinical proteomics is appreciated.

Moreover, candidates should have a keen interest in translational cancer research and in providing state-of-the-art technologies to facilitate the develop¬ment of mechanism-based tumor thera¬pies.

The proteomics platform staff scientist is expected to engage in a multidisciplinary team as part of the FCI core and needs to bring good team communication skills. In addition to a strong expertise in MS-based proteomics a record of successful projects is required for the position. Contracts are planned for 3 years with the option for extension. The position is located at Goethe University’s campus Niederrad.
