The Institute of Molecular Cancer Research (IMCR) at the University of Zurich is seeking to support outstanding candidates applying for an SNSF Eccellenza Professorial Fellowship (Deadline: February 1, 2020).
The IMCR is a leading multidisciplinary research centre focusing on genome instability and its impact on cancer development and therapy, and bacterial infection as an underlying cause of cancer (see here). Embedded in the lively Irchel campus of the University of Zurich and taking advantage of excellent central facilities (microscopy, functional genomics, animal facilities, flow cytometry etc.), the IMCR offers a vibrant, international environment and enjoys PhD recruitment via successful graduate schools. The IMCR further commits to support the prospective SNSF Eccellenza Professor with a technical assistant position, access to high-end equipment, significant amounts of consumables, as well as administrative assistance for the full duration of the fellowship.
In order to be eligible for an SNSF Eccellenza Professorial Fellowship, applicants should possess one of the following: Swiss nationality, a Swiss higher education degree or at least two years’ research experience at a Swiss higher education institution. Further information on the SNSF Eccellenza Program can be found here.
Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, a detailed description of their research plans, CV and contact details of 3 referees by November 4, 2019. Key selection criterion will be the potential synergy of the proposed research with other research programs currently ongoing at the IMCR. We strongly encourage applications from female researchers. Interviews will take place in November/December 2019.
