A Brief Introduction to SIMIT-CAS
Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology (SIMIT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), was founded in 1928, SIMIT is a multidisciplinary comprehensive institute engaged in both fundamental and applied research. In the 90-year development history, SIMIT has always readjusted the layout of scientific research to meet the national strategic demands, and played a leading role in the national economic construction. In the 1960s, SIMIT started the development of micro-electronics and semiconductor manufacturing technology, and developed China’s first piece of industrial practical PN junction isolation IC, high-speed ECL circuit and the first domestic 8-bit, 16-bit microprocessor. In the mid 1980’s, SIMIT conducted research on micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) and Silicon on insulator (SOI) materials, occupying a domestic leading position and an important place in the world. In the 21st century, SIMIT had independent intellectual property of broadband wireless communication system; SIMIT realized the industrialization of SOI materials and filled the domestic blank. The independently developed Superconducting Nanowire Single-Photon Detector (SNSPD) technology achieved NbN SNSPD detection efficiency of over 90% for the first time globally, making it the most efficient in the world. The SNSPD was successfully applied in the quantum communication domain. In collaboration with the University of Science and Technology of China, the research achievement was included in China Ten Major Scientific and Technological Progress in 2014.During the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, SIMIT has deployed three significant breakthroughs, including intelligent sensing microsystem, superconducting quantum devices & circuits and high-end Si-based materials and devices.

Research directions of the jobs
1、Intelligent sensing micro-system
Including: Microsystems, IntelliSense, Internet of Things, Wireless Sensor Networks.
2、Superconducting quantum devices and circuits
Including: Quantum new materials and physics, superconducting sub-devices and circuits, exploration of cutting-edge applications of superconducting electrons, etc.
3、High-end silicon-based materials and devices
Including: Advanced silicon substrate material, KFZSOI integrated circuits, integrated silicon photonics technology.
4、Broadband wireless communication technology and equipment
Including: Future mobile communications, broadband wireless communications, 5G communications, etc.
5、Micro-Nano sensing technology and devices
Including: MEMS/NEMS technology, physical sensors, chemical sensors, biochemical sensors, implantable sensors, Combo composite sensors, Hyper-spectrum detection microsystems, etc.
6、Phase change memory and its application
Including: New storage materials, new storage technologies, non-volatile memories, phase change memory chips and devices, etc.
7、Terahertz solid-state technology
Including: Terahertz cascade laser, terahertz detector, terahertz solid state device, terahertz spectrometer, terahertz/millimeter wave imager, etc.
8、Brain-like chips and bionic vision
Including: AI, robot, bionic vision, brain-chip, a bionic eye, the image processing.
9、New Energy Technology
Including: silicon wafer base high efficiency solar cells, perovskite, flexible module and application, micro energy harvesting device, solar cell standard measurement and calibration.
Applicant’s basic conditions
（1）Non-Chinese foreign expert;
（2）No more than 65 years old;
（3）Serve as professors or the equivalents of professors in famous foreign universities and research institutions or senior professional and technical talents in the international well-known enterprises;
2、Project research professor
（1）With a doctoral degree；
（2）No more than 55 years old;
（3）Serve as professors or the equivalents of professors in famous overseas universities and research institutions or senior professional and technical talents in the international well-known enterprises；
3、Project research associate professor
（1）No more than 40 years old;
（2）With a doctoral degree; have formal teaching or research positions in the well-known overseas universities, scientific and research institutions or research and development institutions of well-known enterprises; have worked overseas continuously for more than 36 months after obtaining doctoral degree；
4、Post-doctoral & Special research assistant of CAS
（1）No more than 35 years old;
（2）With a doctoral degree;
（3）With outstanding innovative research results or potential.
