Senior Research Scientist (f/m/d) RNA Biology Project Lead
Full-time and permanent

Your key responsibilities:

- Serve as project leader on integrated drug discovery projects focusing on RNA as drug targets across a number of disease and therapeutic areas
- Serve as proposal owner for preparation of a detailed drug discovery project proposals
- Utilize Evotec experts from other relevant functions (MedChem, DMPK, HTS, Structure / CompChem, Development, and other functions as required)
- Present proposal to clients, and work closely with Business Development and with Operations colleagues to reach approval and to initiate the drug discovery project
- Play an active role in implementing RNA as a drug target for integrated drug discovery projects
- Close interaction, collaboration, and communication is essential, with attention to time lines and resource use.

Your ideal qualifications:

- PhD degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology or another relevant field
- Many years of pharmaceutical industry, biotech and/or CRO experience is required
- Extensive experience in addressing RNA as drug target with small molecules, RNAi or ASOs in cellular systems and animal models
- Substantial pharmacology experience and a proven background in Drug Discovery and preclinical development with a track record of contributing to projects involving various target classes and technologies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, works well independently, and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Broad understanding of the pathological processes that drive human disease is required. This could include deep knowledge of immunology/inflammation, neurobiology and/or cellular degeneration.
- Fluency in written, read and spoken English is required
