The Department of Inflammation and Oncology Research is seeking highly motivated Scientist to investigate mechanisms of immune mediated pathogenesis in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, and to discover and develop innovative therapies to treat these diseases. We encourage scientists with experience in autoimmune diseases, autoreactive T and B cells, autoantigen discovery, MHC presentation and its interaction with TCR to apply.
The successful candidate will independently lead a laboratory group, as well as project teams, and will collaborate with other research scientists at multiple Amgen sites, including teams in other functional areas such as Therapeutic Discovery, Medical Sciences, and Computational Biology.
The Scientist will perform cutting-edge research that integrates human genetics, immunology and autoimmune diseases, and will develop novel therapies including cell mediated therapies by using various innovative technologies and approaches. You will be expected to publish and to present at national/international conferences.
Master’s degree and 4 years of scientific experience
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of scientific experience
Ph.D or MD, with postdoctoral training and research experience in the field of immunology, autoimmune diseases, molecular biology or biochemistry
Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in research, exemplified by a strong publication record in top tier journals
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and can work effectively in a highly collaborative research environment
