Institute of Experimental Genetics
Area of research:
Scientific / postdoctoral posts
As German Research Center for Environmental Health, Helmholtz Zentrum München pursues the goal of developing personalized medical approaches for the prevention and therapy of major common diseases such as diabetes mellitus, allergies and lung diseases. To achieve this, it investigates the interaction of genetics, environmental factors and lifestyle.
The aim of the Institute for Experimental Genetics (IEG) is to understand the mechanisms of human disease, especially in diabetes mellitus. In addition to genetics, the IEG explores the effects of environmental factors on disease pathogenesis. The German Mouse Clinic (GMC) is part of the IEG and internationally leading in systemic phenotypic analysis of genetic and environmental factors. A particular focus is on the development of databases and the application of modern bioinformatics methods to gain new insights from large data sets. The IEG is part of the Helmholtz Diabetes Center (HDC) and partner of the German Center for Diabetes Research.
At the next possible time the IEG is looking for a
