As German Research Center for Environmental Health, Helmholtz Zentrum München pursues the goal of developing personalized medical approaches for the prevention and therapy of major common diseases such as diabetes mellitus, allergies and lung diseases. To achieve this, it investigates the interaction of genetics, environmental factors and lifestyle.
The newly established Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM) develops and implements 3D imaging technologies to be able to generate the highest resolution views of whole mouse bodies and human organs. At iTERM, we bring together cutting-edge science from biology, chemistry, engineering, and computer science to build unprecedented analysis pipelines for a large variety of biomedical research questions. Overall, this approach provides us with a holistic view of inter-connected biological systems to comprehend diseases an unbiased way. iTERM is growing rapidly and to further strengthen the setup of our young institute we are looking for a highly motivated
Scientific Project Manager (f/m/d)
The iTERM science management team provides comprehensive support to enable the scientific staff to excel in their research. The successful candidate will manage internal projects as well as projects funded by German, European and International agencies. This includes strategic planning, human resource management, scientific coordination and monitoring of scientific progress as well as the preparation of financial and scientific reports. You will work at the interface of the iTERM scientists with the central offices at Helmholtz, external scientific and industrial partners, as well as national and international funding agencies. You will ensure through strategic planning that the quality, regulatory, and contractual requirements are met. Furthermore, you will organize and attend scientific project meetings and workshops in Munich and abroad, and support our public relations work.
PhD degree in natural sciences, or comparable qualification / professional experienceExtensive experience in scientific management with a focus on research fund administration and finances and coordination of interdisciplinary research units and pharmaceutical companiesStrong experience in coordination of multi-institutional research platforms and of joint studies between universities and research centres (non-university)Experience with independent writing of scientific texts (manuscripts, grant applications)
