Position: Scientific Associate—Cardiac Cell Therapy

Position Summary:

Avery is recruiting an experienced scientific associate to conduct R&D and manufacturing work. This is a new role which is well suited for a talented, self-motivated individual, able to work independently but eager to collaborate, and ready to set a new standard at our firm. The ideal candidate will have experience in pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation, cell biology, and molecular biology, including qPCR, flow cytometry, and plate reader based assays such as ELISA. Team members will contribute to Avery’s ongoing efforts to manufacture tissues for therapeutic use.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory work with iPSC, differentiated cells and primary cell in addition to culture of engineered tissues.
• Develop and document standard operating procedures and technical reports
• Participate on technical transfer (incoming and outgoing)
• Develop manufacturing processes and quality systems
• Collaborate with and deliver technical information to company executives, quality consultants, regulatory consultants and contract manufacturers
• Develop assays for product release testing
• Develop projections for project labor, materials, equipment
• Prepare reports and publications
• Follow government and company regulations
• Set up and maintain equipment and lab operations
• Maintain and build technical knowledge relevant to role
• Attend and present at scientific meetings
• Participate in domestic and international travel when necessary
