Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences (ELS-IIN)
The Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences (ELS-IIN) is recruiting neuroscience and neuroengineering researchers highly motivated to improve the society using science and education as tools.
ELS-IIN is represented by the Santos Dumont Institute, an education and research non-profit social organization supported by the Brazilian Ministry of Education.
Overall research aim of ELS-IIN is to conduct basic and translational research in brain machine-interface, human-machine interface, neuromodulation, and to develop innovation with social impact.
ELS-IIN provides an unique facility with variety of techniques including cell biology, stereotaxic neuroimplant, multi-unit/behavior recording in animal models (rat, mouse and marmoset), fluorescent microscopy, confocal microscopy, electroencephalography, electromyography, kinematic, orthostatic body weight support, robotic gait support, immersive virtual reality, 3D printer, invasive and non-invasive neuromodulation, GPU workstation.
Responsibilities include laboratory and project management, experimental design, reviewing and preparing data, manuscript preparation, mentoring of students (PhD, master, high school fellows), technical assistance, public awareness of science (developing interactive projects with diverse public), administrative and scientific meetings, collaborative projects, and above all, ethical and professional behavior. Required qualifications: PhD level candidates with experience in neuroscience, neuroengineering, biomedical engineering, neurophysiology, signal processing, biotechnology, robotic, bio-inspired robotic or artificial intelligence.
- Task-project management;
- Data acquisition (EEG, spike, lfp, EMG, eye-tracker, inertial sensor, kinematic, microscopy, etc);
- Data analysis (programming, phyton, Matlab, GPU computing, statistics);
- Data documentation (presentation, paper, project, etc);
