About the team/job


We are looking for a Research Technician to join the group of Dr. Kyung Min Noh in the Genome Biology Unit at the EMBL Heidelberg, Germany. Our group studies chromatin mechanism in relation to the neurodevelopmental process and brain disorders.


Your role


This position will participate in specific research projects involving human induced pluripotent stem cells and mouse embryonic stem cell, alone and in collaboration with other lab members. The position is also responsible for general laboratory management, including administration of lab resources, purchases, scheduling lab duties, and training of new group members.


You have



  • Master or Ph.D. degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or a related field and experience as a lab technician or equivalent related research experience.

  • Experience in human induced pluripotent stem cell and mouse embryonic stem cell cultures and differentiation to other cell lineages is essential.

  • Experience in molecular biology techniques (e.g., cloning, DNA, and RNA extraction) is preferred.

  • Experience in high-throughput technologies (e.g., CRISPR screens, next-generation sequencing, single cell sequencing) is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

  • Excellent time management, organization, and communications skills.

  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and punctuality.

  • Fluency in English is required.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is beneficial.

This position requires flexibility in work schedule (e.g., willingness to occasionally work weekends to maintain cells and accomplish projects). This position is expected to attend regular supervision meeting with the group leader and lab members.
