About the team/job
The Marcia lab at EMBL Grenoble has an opening for a full-time, paid internship from Nov 1st 2019 to Feb 29th 2020. The lab uses molecular and structural biology and biochemical and biophysical approaches to study the molecular interactions between non coding RNAs and nuclear proteins, which regulate gene expression processes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for general laboratory management and for maintenance of essential laboratory equipment. Tasks will include preparation of laboratory solutions and media, cloning, and operation of general laboratory equipment. Depending on qualification, the candidate may also perform protein expression in insect and/or E. coli cells and related purification. It is expected that the candidate participates to weekly lab meetings.
Applicants should have a degree in biochemistry or a related field from a technical school or university, excellent skills in molecular biology, including the ability to design a cloning experiment, and familiarity with automated laboratory equipment. Enthusiasm to work within an international team and fluency in English are mandatory.
