A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available within the newly established Center for Spatial and Functional Genomics at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute, an interdisciplinary institution dedicated to conducting basic, clinical and translational research on conditions and diseases that affect children. A Postdoctoral Fellow is needed to join a dynamic group of investigators interested in studying the functional consequences of signals that have come out of recent genome wide association studies (GWAS) of Alzheimer’s Disease. See our recent study on bone loci to get insight in to our general approach - https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-019-09302-x. The successful candidate will be dedicated and motivated, and a driver of her/his research. The postdoctoral fellow will undertake approaches primarily based on IPS cell handling and genome editing, plus chromatin conformation capture related techniques and high-throughput sequencing. We are looking for a candidate with prior experience in these techniques. In addition, experience in sequencing and some understanding of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) based analysis outcomes would be beneficial.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To lead specific projects agreed upon with the P.I.
2. IPS cell handling and genome editing
3. Perform calculations and maintain appropriate log books and lab notebooks.
4. Analyze and interpret resulting data.
5. Submit findings in peer-review journals and present at national and international meetings.
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations
Required Education and Experience
- A terminal degree PhD, MD, DVM, etc.
- According to the CMS (Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services) a copy of diploma or transcript is required as proof of academic achievement for all non-laboratory personnel performing non-waived POC testing
