UCL MRC Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7.
The salary range will be £35,328 to £42,701 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The successful candidate will be developing assays for high-throughput and high-content screening of cells, perform experiments and lead various research projects. The successful applicant will interact closely with other researchers in the department and across other faculties at UCL.
Applicants should have experience in general molecular cell biology, quantitative fluorescence microscopic imaging and assay development. Applicants must be able to demonstrate scientific/technical versatility, as evidenced by hands-on experience in the previous role. Research experience in functional genomics, drug discovery and/or high-throughput screening programs would be an advantage. Basic knowledge in statistical and bioinformatics analysis is desirable.
Applicants should be willing to work independently and as a team so that they can take an active role in ensuring the well-being and success of the research group as a whole. This will include training pre- and post-doctoral scientists and active participation in collaborative research projects. Applicants should hold a PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related subject area.
Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary £30,922 – £32,607 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
