Department of Physiology, UniBE

Bern, Switzerland

We offer new academic career opportunities for a highly qualified Postdoctoral Fellow in cardiovascular biology. Research projects are focussing on calcium and IP3 signaling and cardiac excitation-contraction coupling on the cellular and molecular level, both in health and cardiac diseases. Experimental work is based on functional read-outs on the cellular/sub-cellular level that combine various biophysical methods including calcium imaging and confocal microscopy, complemented by electrophysiology and biomolecular methods.

This new position offers excellent academic career options in a highly interactive and networked international environment and gives an opportunity to achieve scientific independence at an early stage in your research. The candidate will be able to develop her/his own research objectives, projects and proposals.

Qualifications: MD or PhD in a medical or biological discipline. High-level expertise in any of the used techniques and cardiovascular background knowledge would be an asset. Patch clamp and/or calcium imaging skills are highly encouraged. In addition, interest in university lecturer teaching for preclinical medical students is crucial. Excellent knowledge of English or German is required.

Internationally highly competitive salary and excellent working conditions are offered.
