Research Fellow in Cancer Epidemiology ACAD104031

£43,267 – £48,677 per annum

We are seeking a talented and committed researcher to contribute to both our MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit (MRC IEU) and our Cancer Research UK funded Integrative Cancer Epidemiology Programme (ICEP).

Working with the IEU and ICEP teams the successful candidate will use Mendelian randomization and other causal inference methods to identify specific and actionably somatic molecular mechanisms that play a causal role in cancer predisposition and cancer progression, and support research aiming to elucidate the relationship between modifiable environmental and lifestyle risk factors and important somatic/tumour molecular phenotypes.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and successful cancer research team, embedded within the larger MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit, with strong collaborative links across the University and beyond, including with the cancer research team at Southmead Hospital, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC, France) and other international researchers.

We appreciate and value difference, seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Bristol and help maintain our position as one of the world’s leading universities.
