Research Fellow – Immuno-Oncology studies in the Breast Tumor Immunology Laboratory
The Breast Tumor Immunology Laboratory is newly established at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, as part of the breast tumor immunology/immunotherapy program. This laboratory bridges the clinical breast oncology program with the basic and translation breast cancer immunology laboratory efforts at Dana-Farber under the supervision of the Director of the Breast Immuno-Oncology Program, Elizabeth Mittendorf, MD, PhD and the Director of the Breast Tumor Immunology Laboratory, Jennifer Guerriero, PhD. https://breasttumorimmunologylab.dana-farber.org/
The successful candidate will be expected to lead and develop independent projects, supervise technicians, and work in conjunction with other post-doctoral fellows at Dana-Farber, the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, The Broad Institute and Harvard Medical School. Specific studies include the development and validation of short-term culture systems using murine or patient derived tumors, extensive analysis of the breast tumor microenvironment and in vivo experiments to study mechanisms of response to therapies with the goal being to inform the development of combination therapies. This position requires experience with animal models of breast cancer and experience with flow cytometry. Applications missing these points will not be considered.
• The successful candidate must have a MD, PhD or MD/PhD degree with several years of experience in immunology and immunotherapy and be highly motivated.
• Must have a high level of knowledge of cellular immunology and immunobiology assays.
• Excellent skills in standard immunology assays, multi-color flow cytometry, and breast cancer models.
Schedule: Full time, flexible. The hours of this position will vary to meet deadlines in order to complete experiments and achieve project goals in a timely fashion.
