Research Fellow – Bioinformatics – Cancer Genome Evolution Scientist x2
The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £35,328 – £42,701 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
We are seeking 2 full time Research Fellows to work on evolutionary cancer genomics.
The successful candidates will make use of multiple ‘omics data from the longitudinal prospective cohort study TRACERx, in order to map tumour evolution, and obtain a deeper understanding of the interface between cancer evolution and the immune microenvironment. The candidates will be based within the McGranahan Lab within the UCL Cancer Institute and the CRUK Lung Cancer Centre of Excellence.
The posts are funded for one year in the first instance with a start date of as soon as possible.
The successful candidate must have, or be studying towards, a PhD.
They must provide previous experience with NGS data as well as fluent in R, Python, Perl or C ++, have good knowledge of statistics and be able to present complex data at meetings.
Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary £30,922 – £32,607 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
