Lund University

Lund, Sweden

An exciting opportunity for a Research Engineer is available immediately in the Proteomic Hematology group of Dr. Jenny Hansson at the Division of Molecular Hematology of the Lund Stem Cell Center, Lund University, Sweden. The Lund Stem Cell Center is a strategic center of excellence in life science, with a strong international position in the area of blood stem cell biology. We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious research engineer with a strong background in mass spectrometry-based proteomics to join the laboratory of Dr. Jenny Hansson. We have recently installed an Exploris 480 mass spectrometer which we aim to use to it’s full potential to answer complex biological questions within the research group as well as within Lund Stem Cell Center and Medical Faculty.

Apart from the responsibility for maintenance of the Exploris 480, the research engineer will design experiments, prepare samples for mass spectrometric analysis and apply advanced mass spectrometric approaches to exciting stem cell research. The research engineer will have liberty to try innovative approaches and is expected to implement and improve methods within especially cellular proteomics. The research engineer will work in close collaboration with the other members of the research group. The research engineer will also communicate with and report to collaboration partners.

The research engineer is expected to follow the development of mass spectrometry-based proteomics by frequent attendance to international conferences and workshops. We offer the opportunity to do cutting-edge research and be part of a stimulating scientific community within a world-renowned blood and stem cell research environment that fosters collaboration and innovative thinking.
