Fixed Term, Full Time
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher, holding a PhD in Cell biology, biophysics or related disciplines that has experience and is interested in different aspects of cellular mechanobiology. Experience on different aspects of cell biology (gene expression, transfections and generation of stable cell line is a strong requirement). The candidate will work with different mechanical techniques (AFM, Magnetic Tweezers, substrate stiffness, cell stretching devices, microfluidics) combined with optical microscopy (confocal and super-resolution) to understand how mechanical forces from the extracellular matrix propagate inside the cell to reach the cell nucleus.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for two years or until 1 May 2022.
