Research Associate in Van Der Waals Materials
£32,816 – £40,322 per annum (according to experience)
Fixed Term – 1 May 2020 until 31 January 2021
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position within the condensed matter physics group in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Manchester.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of researchers who are at the forefront of research on van der Waals materials and will work on a series of projects relating to graphene and other 2D materials funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
The post is available from 01 May 2020 until 31 January 2021 and will focus on a number of projects related to crystal growth techniques, surface characterisation techniques, device fabrication, and nano chemistry in two-dimensional materials.
You will hold a PhD preferably in physics. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in area of growth, functionalization, microfabrication, and testing of 2D materials that are of great interest for sensing, optoelectronic, catalysis, and other applications. You should be well-organised and self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
