Job description:

The Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) operates one of the most powerful computer systems for scientific and technical applications in Europe and makes it available for research purposes to scientists at Forschungszentrum Jülich, in Germany, and throughout Europe. Important fields of the work of the “mathematics and education” department at JSC include mathematical modelling and the development and optimization of innovative numerical methods and algorithms on massively parallel supercomputers


Your Job:



  • advancement of the task-based C++ framework Eventify for Exascale hardware

  • development of tasking strategies for particle-in-cell plasma codes on hierarchical CPU hardware

  • extension of the tasking model for GPU hardware

Your Profile:

  • university degree in the field of computer science, mathematics or natural sciences
  • very good knowledge of modern C++
  • interest in task-based parallelization approaches for GPUs and CPUs
  • social competence and good communication skills for collaborative work in and with international teams
  • excellent command of written and spoken English, command of German is helpful
